POLICY CHANGES

2025 CELL PHONE POLICY

During instructional times, students will be required to place their cell phones in the classroom storage, and their phones will be returned to them at the end of the instructional period.

Students may NOT take their phones with them to the bathrooms or other places during instructional class time. Students will be permitted to access their cell phones as required medically and/or during extenuating circumstances. Students will be able to access their cell phones during lunch, study halls, and changing of classes.  Students who do not comply with this policy will be disciplined by the Code of Conduct Regulation 5600.  They may be required to have their phones placed in a locking pouch for the duration of the school day.

Points of emphasis for Attendance Policy/Regulation #5200:

  1. Early dismissal not approved by the Principal will count as an unexcused absence.  Students arriving after 10:01 a.m. or leaving before 11:20 a.m. will be charged with a full day unexcused absence. Approved Early Departures include but are not limited to a family emergency, medical or dental appointment (note must be provided upon return), driver's test (must provide proof upon return), and court appearances (must provide proof upon return).
  2. If a student is late four times, it will equal one unexcused absence.
  3. Truancy charges will be filed with the local police department for students under the age of 17 who accumulate ten (10) unexcused absences.
